S & S Services established as a partnership by Jim Sanderson and John Stevens.
1970
Jim and Dorothy Sanderson take over management of the business, focusing on general transport and removal services.

Increased business leads to

Continued growth prompts company move to premises in Tunbridge Wells and investment in the very first articulated truck.
1979
1980-1985
Continued growth in part-load services and abnormal loads.
1986
Further expansion prompts company move to Tonbridge, acquiring the current freehold site with improved road access and added facilities. S & S Warehousing Services Ltd established to look after the warehousing/storage side of business.
1988
Work completed on offices, workshops and warehouse at new site.
1990
Warehouse extended in line with growth and customer requirements.
1992
Further growth prompts construction of new 4500 pallet space racked warehouse.
1995
Company becomes a shareholding member of the Palletline palletised distribution system to further expand the
Sayward & Sanderson International formed to carry out European transport operations.
1998
Further expansion on site to build a new two-bay workshop, two storey office block and extended parking facilities (completed 2000).
2002
European operation merged into S & S Distribution business
2004
Group reorganisation results in establishment of S & S Distribution Ltd to look after all transport operations, and formation of S & S Warehousing Services to manage warehousing and property functions.
2004
Richard Ball (formerly with Tibbett & Britten) appointed as Managing Director.
2005
Construction of new vehicle wash bay.
